When I heard about Hot Import Nights originally it was supposed to be in New Hampshire at Loudon. But when I heard that it was supposed to be in Worcester, MA I figured it wouldn’t be a bad idea to check it out. Besides it was much closer.
Growing up and learning about cars I wasn’t really a fan of imports. I didn’t know much about them for the simple fact that I was not exposed to imports. My first car was a ’71 Ford Mustang that I own to this day. The car that I actually drove as my ‘first car’ was a Mazda Protege which I also still own as well. When Fast and the Furious came around I was 12 years old. I didn’t really have an interest in imports but that later changed due my aforementioned Mazda in the years after receiving my license. And the many adventures that would follow as a result.
What really struck me was the fact that Paul Walker was quite the opposite of the character in the F&F franchise in that he was more interested in old cars as opposed to imports in the beginning. That gave me a lot more respect for him as a car enthusiast because it was basically where I started as well. This I learned through an interview after his death. Even though I’m not really a fan of the color scheme on this car it was kind of cool seeing it person. Rest in Peace, Paul Walker.
