Dubs on Defrost 7

0

This is the first time I’ve ever been to Dubs on Defrost. I heard of the show a few times before I had gotten the chance or the timing right to actually attend. There was a meetup at the Basketball Hall of Fame before hand so everyone that knew each other could cruise in together. This also helped because I had never been to Lake Compounce either (where the event was held this time around). It was quite cold for April but it warmed up later in the day to be quite sunny. The drive there was interesting because people were taking rolling shots on the highway and we kind of in a huge convoy of euro cars; with the exception of the minivan I was driving.

Frank Maratta Auto Show & Race-A-Rama 2014

Every year at the Eastern States Exposition in February is a large display of everything motorsport you can think of; from go karts, to drag racing, to amateur race cars and a bunch of awesome show cars. It is located in the Better Living Center building on the grounds of the Big E. It is a unique display of what the area has to offer in terms of motorsport and car culture.

Motorama 2014

I’ve heard about Motorama multiple times over the past few years from my travels around to different car shows. What is Motorama you ask? It isn’t just a car show, not only motocross and quad racing and definitely not like any event I’ve ever been to. It’s all of those under many different buildings consisting of over a million square feet. There’s also competition go cart racing, Radio Controlled car racing, fighting robots and whole lot more going on the whole weekend. And it’s all located at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. That’s a lot under one roof or rather, multiple.

Providence Graffiti

It seems that when society sees graffiti they see it a nuisance rather than an art form. Though lately things have changed in some places with sanctioned spaces where artists can legally show their skills without too much attention from authorities. Graffiti has history and culture which started in the 60’s and 70’s in New York City. Originally taggers would mark trains but it

Pinup and Drag

Alex had come up with the idea of doing a shoot for Valentine’s Day last year. I agreed. We set about getting a date set and we met up at her place for the shoot. She had the idea for a burlesque/ Betty Page style theme. I thought that was a cool idea for Valentine’s Day. We moved the kitchen table back and set up against the wall. It was a plain white background that worked well.

Rumble At Ralph’s, Round 5!

Since shooting with Alex at Milltown in 2013 my interest in the old school hod rod/ pinup scene has increased. As you may have seen by my Tune by Tuna post I have some familiarity with older cars. So when it came to checking out more local hot rod shows I was all for it. Alex, myself, my brother, and Steven set off to Ralph’s Diner but not before getting a bit lost. However, we figured out where we were going and soon found ourselves driving by some hot rods and the sign for Ralph’s Diner. And that’s when we knew we were in the right place!

Staggered Fall Edition

So the awesome people that put on the Staggered car show that I finally got to attend decided they wanted to put on another one October 13th 2013. They said they didn’t want to wait until the spring to see everyone. It was at the same place as the last one and it was awesome! I had also just got a new camera and kind of figured out how to make it work. Definitely couldn’t wait to check out all the awesome cars!

Miss Alex Cherry Bombshell @ Forest Park with Makeup by Samar

This is the fourth shoot that Alex and I have done since we started working together back in August of 2013. If you’ve realized, wait a minute, where’s the the third one? You’re not crazy, we haven’t uploaded it yet. Still working on it! Don’t worry, it’s going to be good, so keep a lookout!

I finally got the opportunity to work with Samar from Makeup by Samar. We had been planning a shoot for quite a while and going through a variety of different ideas and communicating via email. By this time I had gotten a new camera, as some of you might already know, and was hugely thankful to have been working with Alex up to this point. I had asked Alex if she wanted to do the shoot and around mid-October we made it happen!

Samar had asked me to get some shots of her applying the makeup and some closeups of Alex with the makeup on.

Miss Alex Cherry Bombshell @ Heritage Park

Towards the end of September Alex and I decided to go for our second shoot at Heritage Park in East Longmeadow, Ma. We had done Milltown (which was our first shoot together) so this was going out spontaneously just after I got my new camera to see what we could do. It went pretty well and was a great day. Check it out!
